I think I can legitimately say that I am now into my “last weeks” in Ottawa – there are approximately 11 weeks until we are finished. So it’s time to start doing some of things I haven’t got around to doing yet here in Ottawa.
To that end, yesterday was the perfect day for a boat ride on the Rideau Canal. There wasn’t much more chance to do this because some time in the next month or so the water level of the canal will be dropped in preparation for winter when the canal becomes the world’s largest ice-skating rink. I learnt yesterday that the Rideau Canal is not the world’s longest ice-skating rink (somewhere else has claimed that title), but it is still the largest.
