It was a glorious Autumn day in Brisbane today, a perfect day to be out and about.

Early this morning I joined the pro-life rosary procession through the Roma Street Parklands.   During the procession we pray a couple of decades of the rosary over the road from the abortuary on Wickham Terrace.   The next procession is Saturday 16 June.   Please join us as we pray for hearts to change, and for the precious gift of life to be accepted.  Join the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/prolifeprocession/.

I then took a drive down to Marian Valley for the anticipated celebrations of the Solemnity of Our Lady, Help of Christians, patroness of Australia (and patroness of the Marian Valley Shrine).  Bishop Jarrett of Lismore (and our apostolic administrator during the sede vacante period of the Archdiocese of Brisbane) was the principal celebrant of the Mass, assisted by Bishop Oudeman, one of our auxiliary bishops, and another visiting bishop from overseas.  I had a nice spot under a Jacaranda tree to hear confessions.   Marian Valley is a beautiful setting, made even more beautiful today by the sounds of the enthusiastic singing of the visiting pilgrims.   It is a peaceful oasis where many come to worship the Lord in the sacred mysteries, and to celebrate especially the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Mary, Help of Christians, pray for us!
