The former Pius XII Provincial Seminary, Banyo

It is 19 years ago today (February 7) that I began at was then Pius XII Provincial Seminary, Banyo (Brisbane, Australia).  Today is an occasion for me to remember in prayerful gratitude all those who shared any part of that journey.

Pius XII Seminary doesn’t exist any more – well, not as it was.  In the late 1990s the seminary moved out of the buildings and into transitional accommodation in a former convent and other houses in the nearby Wavell Heights Parish.  In 2003 the old seminary buildings became the new home of the Australian Catholic University which had outgrown its campus at Mitchelton.

After some time, the bishops of Queensland took the decision to build a new seminary back on the Banyo site, and the new Holy Spirit Seminary was officially opened in April 2008.
