On Wednesday, amonst a large contingent of priests, I concelebrated the Funeral Mass for Fr Bob Bedard. Fr Bob was a priest of Ottawa, and founder of the Companions of the Cross community. The Cathedral was packed. Archbishop Prendergast was the principal celebrant, and a moving homily was preached by Fr Scott McCaig CC. I never met Fr Bob, but he has left a lasting legacy with a ministry that has touched many, and especially with the foundation of the Companions of the Cross. May he rest in peace.
